A MINIBUS appeal will be launched in Otley on Saturday at a special coffee morning for the town's umbrella group for older people.
Otley's Town Mayor, Councillor John Eveleigh, will officially launch the Otley Action for Older People (OAOP) appeal which hopes to raise enough money to buy a specially adapted minibus.
Coun Eveleigh, who is chairman of OAOP, said he hoped many people would go to the launch at Otley Civic Centre (10am to 1pm).
"A new minibus will mean that we can help provide high quality, easily accessible appropriate transport in the future, helping to ensure that as people get older they can still meet up with friends and get out and about in the community we all share," he said
People going along on Saturday will be able to enjoy a variety of stalls as well as face painting, portrait painting and Bobo the Clown.
Anyone able to donate jams, preserves, books or tombola prizes should contact Sue Trainor at the OAOP's office in the Civic Centre or telephone (01943) 463965.
