Bingley's young swimmers gained valuable experience in a nine-team international event at Shipley Pool.

They were up against Lisse from Holland, Ilkley, Halifax, Barnsley, Chapeltown Sheffield, Bradford Dolphins and Rhyl.

Bingley had two teams in the competition and they finished third and fourth overall.

Top honours went to North Wales vistors Rhyl who collected 362 points - seven more than Chapeltown Sheffield.

Adrian Lonsdale was one of Bingley's outstanding swimmers winning the open breastroke and freestyle events.

Coach Andrew Wade was also delighted with the form of a number of his younger competitiors.

He said: "Carey Senczyszyn, Lucinda Chan, Sarah George and James Bowler all swam extremely well and the experience will have done them good."

lCity of Bradford Synchro swimmers competed in the Derbyshire Routine Grades Competition and there were individual first places for Natalia Bottomley, Alex Barnett and Charlotte Ackroyd while there was a duet success for Kate Gibson and Emma Shkurka.
