Non-League Soccer: Guiseley travel to Gloucestershire tomorrow to face Conference outfit Forest Green as their FA Cup bandwagon reaches the first round proper.

Expectation will be high for Bobby Davison's men as they triumphed over Forest Green's high-flying league rivals Nuneaton Borough to reach this stage, and a club record will be set if Guiseley reach the second round.

Because of injuries to 12 players, Davison will travel with a squad of 22. "We will do some fitness tests when we get there and pick the side after that," he said. "With it being the FA Cup we are allowed five substitutes, so only four or five of the players will have to sit it out.

"We don't want to get caught up in Friday traffic and arrive there late tonight so we are setting off tomorrow morning. We are trying to keep things as normal as possible."

Skipper Des Hazel and top-scorer Simon Parke have Achilles tendon injuries, and centre back James Nettleton has been having tests for glandular fever.

Bradford Park Avenue will be looking to continue their season-long unbeaten run at Horsfall Stadium when former football league rivals Workington are the visitors in UniBond Division One.

The north-west outfit will not be relishing the trip. In 34 meetings between the clubs, 28 in league fixtures and six in the UniBond, Workington have won at Brad-ford's home just once.

With Bradford City not playing until they visit Liverpool on Monday, Avenue are hoping for extra support. As for all Avenue home games juniors accompanied by a paying adult will be admitted free of charge.

Avenue manager Trevor Storton has to reshuffle his squad after centre back Paul Marquis picked up a calf strain in the warm-up to Wednesday night's home win over Belper Town, which lifted Avenue to fourth.

Eccleshill United are the only other top semi-pro side in the area to have home advantage. They play Armthorpe Welfare in the Northern Counties East Premier Division. Centre back Gary Shaw makes a return to the squad after re-signing this week following a two-year spell at Garforth Town, and Jason Ryan and Craig Handby return from injury, but Richard Wilson is unavailable.

Rivals Thackley make the short trip to Glasshoughton Welfare looking to get back to form after exits from the FA Vase and President's Cup in four days.

In the same division, Liversedge travel to Harrogate Railway Athletic, who they hammered 6-0 in the reverse fixture last week. Sedge manager Eric Gilchrist has injury worries. Top-scorer Danny Toron-czak will undergo a late fitness test after his knee injury flared up again, and Simon O'Hara and Andy Kenton are doubtful with groin strains.

In UniBond Division One, Farsley Celtic journey to Trafford full of confidence after picking up six points from two outings. Midfielder Marc Stimpson - scorer in last Saturday's 1-0 victory over leaders Witton Albion - is serving a one-game suspension and Matt Surtees is serving the last of a three-game ban, but on-loan midfielder Pat McDaid is in contention.
