Bradford City will have to progress to the fifth round to have a chance of a financial bonanza from this season's FA Cup competition.

Competing clubs receive 45 per cent of the net gate from FA Cup ties and, although no figures are available from the third round tie at Crewe it is obvious with a gate of only 6,571 that they will not make a fortune.

Their reward for beating Crewe is a fourth round tie at First Division strugglers Walsall or Second Division promotion candidates Gillingham.

Walsall had a crowd of only 4,314 for Saturday's 1-1 draw. at their Bescot Stadium. The replay is at Priestfield next Wednesday.

The replay will be at Gillingham, probably next Tuesday and their last home crowd in the league was 7,036 so, whoever City have to play in the fourth round, is unlikely to house a massive crowd.

Managing director Shaun Harvey said: "Neither the trip to Walsall or Gillingham is going to be financially rewarding.

"When you consider that we had massive gates for two cup matches last season against Leeds United and Newcastle United it just shows how things can change."

With both City and Chelsea involved in cup matches on Saturday, January 8, the re-arranged league match against Chelsea on that day has been re-scheduled again, this time for Tuesday, January 25.

Harvey said tickets bought for the old date are still valid and there is no need for anyone to go to or telephone the ticket office.

There are still tickets left for the Chelsea match, but Saturday's game against Newcastle is sold out along with Manchester United on March 25 and Leeds United on March 11.

Nearly all tickets for the last match of the season against Liverpool on Sunday, May 14 have been sold.

Midfield player Dean Windass who missed the Crewe match after turning his ankle against Middlesbrough a week last Saturday is under intense treatment to be fit for the Newcastle match.

Physiotherapist Steve Redmond said: "We are quite hopeful he will be fit for this weekend. He has not done any running, but he might be back in training tomorrow or Thursday."

Left back Wayne Jacobs who suffered a sore knee in training indoors last week was back in training today.

City have been drawn at home to Manchester City in the Time FA Youth Cup fourth round. The winners are away to Derby County or Aston Villa in the fifth round.
