Bradford City's postbag has been bulging with ticket re-quests for the Boxing Day game with Manchester United at Old Trafford.

And for the first time this season they will have to hold a ballot to decide who gets the seats.

City have been allocated 2,900 for the match and ticket office manager Tony McNally, said: "We are oversubscribed by 700.

"Of the tickets we have been allocated, our 970 gold members who have paid £117.50 for priority for away tickets are guaranteed seats.

"We will be drawing the rest tomorrow and, by early next week, the other applicants will know whether they have a ticket or their money has been returned."

Those who have not been lucky in the ballot can console themselves by buying tickets for the big screen showing of the match.

McNally said: "Interest is picking up and we expect greater demand once people know whether they have a ticket for Old Trafford or not."

Tickets for the big screen showing are priced £8 for adults, £5 for senior citizens and £2 for juveniles. Prices in the Bantams Bar are £10 for adults and £6 for senior citizens.
