Rugby Union: Bradford and Bingley hope to put a dent in Tynedale's promotion hopes tomorrow in Thwaites North Division One.

The Bees face a tough task against the unbeaten leaders at Corbridge, but they travel with hope.

"Hull Ionians felt they were robbed of victory at home to them on October 9 by a couple of refereeing decisions," said Bradford and Bingley rugby executive member Steve Oddy.

"Ionians thought they were the better side, and there is also a rumour that Tynedale's sponsors have gone into liquidation this week, so that could lead to some interesting developments in the New Year.

"Tynedale play a limited ten-man game, but do it well. However, we have been strengthening up over the past few weeks.

"Howard Greenwood (no 8) is back, Tom Garnett (prop) is back, Mark Heap (utility forward) is in the frame after suspension and Steve McManus (winger or centre) is in contention after injury."

Jewson National League One leaders Otley have a home derby against Harro-gate, while Wharfedale - the only side to beat Otley so far in the league - retain the same starting line-up that performed so well against Rosslyn Park for the visit to improving Camberley.

Bradford Salem's Yorkshire Division One revival seems set to be tested by their visit to second-placed West Leeds.

Salem lost there 37-0 two seasons ago in the first round of the Yorkshire Shield as the Heaton club were on their way to the Yorkshire One title and West Leeds were gaining promotion from Yorkshire Two.

"That was just a blip," admitted Salem centre Neil Klenk. "We prepared badly because one or two of the team thought it was going to be an easier match. But it just shows you what can happen away from home on a murky afternoon against a side that are flying in front of a partizan crowd and feel they have a point to prove."

Salem make one change, bringing back winger Christopher 'Billy' Luxton, who has been in Western Samoa, for the unavailable Terry Franklin.

Keighley, bottom of North East Division One, have a must-win home match against third-from-bottom Horden.

Prop Neil Marklew makes his first start of the season for Keighley, who give Michael Feather a chance in the second row.

Skipper Kevin Young moves to the wing for Matt Gaffney, who drops to the bench. Steve Mortimer partners Peter Lee-Gallon, who replaced him last week when he went off in-jured, in the centre.

Cleckheaton welcome back lock Julian Brooksbank for their North East Division Two match at home to unbeaten leaders Pocklington.
