The Bradford Sunday Alliance are planning to launch a league for junior clubs.

The league is responding to the fact that Bradford has not had a junior league since the days of the Nig Nog League - run by the Telegraph and Argus - and the Barkerend Road Floodlit League.

The invitation is issued to established clubs and newly formed ones.

The Alliance plan to take their first steps by starting two leagues at under-14 and under-15 level. Interested parties are asked to write to league secretary Mrs Pat Goodall, at 23 Thackley Avenue, Bradford, BD10 0RX.

Meanwhile, the weather is causing havoc with current fixtures in the adult Sunday Alliance.

The recent wet weather and approaching Christmas means lot of clubs will be inactive for five weeks.

Bolton Woods are one team suffering particularly with the weather.

They have had two postponements of their third round FA Sunday Cup tie at Eccleshill United against Hull opposition Orchard Park. Now they must follow competition rules and travel to Humberside tomorrow in the third attempt to play the tie.

The kick-off is at 1.30pm at Hall Road Rangers' ground.

Most of the postponed County Cup Ties from the previous week now revert to January, as district cup football takes preference and most of the interested parties are still involved in district cup games.

The tie of the district quarter finals sees Stanley Road play holders Albion Sports at King George V playing fields. New signings Vinney Archer in attack and Jason Ryan in midfield have made Albion tick this time, so with the club still competing on four cup levels they are a round behind in both country and league cups.

It could therefore be some time before they are back in league action.

With EBU and Bolton Woods already out of the competition and Oakenshaw in the other half of the draw, whoever wins would be strongly fancied to reach the final.

Oakenshaw, twice winners in the last three seasons, are at West Bowling. Although Bowling have a good young side with high hopes, one suspects Oakenshaw will be too strong for them.

The winners of the West Bowling-Oakenshaw tie will meet the winners of Wyke and Hudsons.

Wyke have yet to reach the final while Hudsons, who take the field as slight favourites, have not reached the final for ten years.

A round behind are East Ward and Ventus, who clash at Peel Park. Ventus - always good for a cup run - may be feeling rusty having not played for some time. Ward, having a good season, should make it close.

The winners play Queensbury in the quarter finals before meeting the winners of Albion and Stanley Road in the semi-final.

The outstanding league game is also at King George V, where Bradford Moor, the first side to beat champions EBU in league action three weeks ago, get the chance to do the double.

Victory for Moor will see them top of the Premier League table for the first time.
