Influential skipper Stuart McCall believes Bradford City need six more victories this season to avoid relegation and must start with a win over Watford tomorrow.

The Bantams know that victory is paramount against a side who will start the game four points and one place behind Paul Jewell's side in the Premiership.

City are also three points behind fourth-bottom Southampton and McCall is looking to help extend the club's unbeaten home run to seven games.

He said: "We are totally focused and there will be no hangover from us. People asked me after the Sheffield defeat if it had been caused by a hangover from the Gillingham defeat, but that is rubbish.

"We could be out of the bottom three with a win and it is a time for every member of the squad to pull together. We have got to look at winning six out of the next 16 games to avoid finishing in the bottom three. The Watford game is a must-win."

"We have already seen what the wins over Leicester and Newcastle did for our confidence and the Watford game falls into that category. A draw is no use to either team so they will be looking at this game the same way we are. Both sides need a win."

Andy Myers is battling to be fit with a groin injury for a game in which manager Paul Jewell is looking for his side to rediscover their battling qualities.

The City boss said: "We have been working on a number of things and there might be one or two changes. The players know exactly what is wanted from them now.

"We have to play at a much higher tempo than we did at Sheffield and Gillingham. If we can get a decent result against Watford then everything will look a bit brighter.

"Our home form has been solid if not spectacular and we know we have to start picking up more points. This is the proverbial six-pointer.

"I have been disappointed with how we have done against the sides around us in the league because we have only beaten Derby."

Wayne Jacobs, who has not figured in the first team since mid-October, has been recalled to the squad as cover for Myers.
