Granby Phoenix2 Three Horses 5 - The one-sided score line hides the true story of a thrilling Jeff Hall Cup tie in w2hich both goalkeepers were kept busy throughout 90 minutes of end to end action.

Phoenix's inability to defend against penetrating crosses pumped over by the Three Horses wing men certainly contributed to their defeat. The visitors took the lead in the 10th minute, but Christopher Simpson soon had his team on level terms. After both goals had survived narrow escapes Three Horses scored again to take a one goal lead into the break.

A ten minute spell midway through the second half, when they conceded three goals, cost Phoenix the game. Two of the strikes came from corners which exposed Granby's weakness. Mark Critchlow pilled one back and Granby missed two easy chances in the clsoing stages to allow the visitors into the next round.

Ferrands Arms 0

Cavendish Arms 0

In their three previous league and cup meetings Ferrands and Caendish have scored 20 goals between them, but will have to meet again in an attempt to break their cup deadlock this time. Both teams spurned good chances in a typical nervous cup tie.

Craven Athletic 6

Bocking 4

Fortunes fluctuated first one way and then the other in a thrilling cup clash. The home side took an early two goal lead only for the visitors to fight back and go in level 2-2 at the break.

Athletic piled on the pressure again in the second half and found the net four times but Bocking refused to accept defeat and fought back with two goals to give the game a respectable scoreline. Craven scorers were Adam Whiteoak (2), Damon Whiteoak and R Kamanroki.

Brown Cow 2

Albert 3

The home team has shown much improved Premier Division form in recent weeks and were disappointed to loose by a single goal in a match which could have gone either way. Brown Cow's scorers were D Bennett and J Lawrence.

Silsden 8

Bridge 1

The Bridge defence leaked goals galore, and although the inexperienced team looked good going forward they must follow the philosophy of Tottenham manager, George Graham and build their team from the back. If they can strengthen in defence they could prove to be an exciting team to watch next season.

Keighley Victoria 6

Brown Cow (Bingley) 1

The Bingley side seem to have two styles of play, and this time they showed the down side. In the first half they played quite well against the First Division leaders, restricting them to a 2-1 lead at the break. In the second half Victoria piled on the pressure and Brown Cow caved in, conceding four goals without reply.

Victoria scorers were: P Booth (3), Steve Bradshaw (2) and Steve Smith.

Wrose Bull 3

Stanbury Park Rangers 2

Two missed penalties cost Stanbury a place in the next round of the West Riding FA Sunday Cup.

The Alliance team missed two spot kicks in the first half, allowing the Shipley side a 2-0 lead at the break. Stanbury hit back with goals from David Bainbridge and Andrew Grange in the second half to take the match into extra time.

Wrose slotted the only goal of the extra 30 minutes to put Stanbury out of the competition.
