A UFO investigation group wants to hear from Keighley people who saw a massive object fall from the sky on Sunday evening.

An Utley girl reported seeing an object as big as the moon plummet towards the ground, in the direction of Bradford, at 6.30pm.

It was also seen around the same time by a UFO buff in Queensbury and a group of people in Meanwood, near Leeds.

Russ Kellett, a local investigator with the International UFO Research Network, says the girl was looking across the Aire Valley from her bedroom window.

"It was glowing white and came down in seconds behind the hill. She lost it in the darkness.

"We're ruling out ball lightning or space debris, because it would have been massive. Something so big would have made an impact.

Mr Kellett has ruled out a comet, because the object had no tail, and no aircraft are believed to have been in the area.

He says the Leeds sighting was of a green-coloured glowing object the size of an orange.

Anyone who saw an object in the sky around 6.30pm on Sunday should phone Mr Kellett on 01274 501463.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police says the incident was not reported to them.
