A prostitute has told a jury how she was raped by a man after he pulled a knife and took her to a city centre flat.

The woman, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, claimed it was as they were discussing the price for sex that 35-year-old Tony Considine revealed the knife.

When asked by Considine's barrister why she did not shout out the woman said: "There was nobody about and I was scared.

"In the four years I had been working as a prostitute it was the first time I had been raped by a punter. I was scared and he had a knife at my back."

The woman alleged Considine took her to a flat in nearby Roundhill Place where he raped her on a bed and forced her to perform oral sex at knifepoint. She rejected defence suggestions there had been no knife and she only reported the incident to police because Considine had not paid her for sex.

Two hours after the alleged attack in February last year the prostitute went to Bradford Central Police Station and handed officers a kitchen knife which she said had been used by Considine.

His barrister, Robin Frieze, put it to the woman she had picked up the knife from the kitchen of the flat as she left.

"You took it because you were annoyed because he hadn't paid you," he said.

"No I didn't," she replied.

The jury at Bradford Crown Court heard evidence from a pub landlord that Considine had been looking after the flat for a friend who was in hospital and on the night of the alleged attack he had to borrow some money to buy a pint of beer.

Considine, of no fixed abode, pleaded not guilty to the rape charge. The trial continues.
