Keighley Victoria reached the Division One League Cup final with a 2-0 victory over Bocking.

Good football was played by both sides in the first half, but Victoria's pressure told and Bocking conceded an own goal. Bocking then threw men forward and piled on the pressure in the second half, but again the Keighley defence was solid, especially Malcolm Howarth and Aron Hammond.

With Bocking pushing up for an equaliser gaps opened in their defence and super-sub Dick Pearson showed pace to run onto a back pass to seal the game.

They will be joined in the final by Ferrands Arms who beat Silsden Athletic 6-0, but the match was far from one-sided with the result in doubt until the last 15 minutes.

Silsden started the brighter of the two sides and in the first 20 minutes had the Ferrands defence at full stretch, but Andy Nelson put Ferrands in the lead with the only goal of the first half. For the first half hour after the break play swung from end to end until Nelson completed his hat-trick in the space of five minutes. Silsden fell apart and conceded three more goals, the scorers being Ben Dunne, Michael Barnes and Justin George.

n Some clubs have returned their 'Sunday Football' survey forms, but many clubs have still to reply. "I would ask all clubs to take the trouble to complete the forms so that we have a complete picture from all the clubs in the area," said league secretary, Allan Feather.
