CRAVEN ATHLETIC reached the final of the Jeff hall Memorial Trophy for the third year and this time faced Premier Division champions Standbury park Rangers.

Chances were few in an evenly contested first half. Craven started the brighter but Standbury soon got into the stride, but neither side could break the deadlock before half time.

Stanbury's plan, to contain the dangerous strike force of Robertson and McCormack, worked well in the first period but the second period saw Craven have the better chances. With 10 minutes to go they finally hit the net after a succession of corners to claim the only goal of the match.

In the last five minutes Stanbury had two glorious chances to take the game into extra time, but the forward blasted over the top.

The game was played in a sporting manner and was a credit to the League and well officiated by referee Dave Keslinke and his assistants.

Craven Athletic are in action again on Sunday in the Premier Division Cup Final against Three Horses, the Premier Division runners-up. The match kicks off at 11am and at 2.30 Keighley Victoria meet Ferrands Arms. Both finals are being played on Steeton FC's Summerhill Lane ground.
