A Bradford woman is heading for the top in the hotel industry after making remarkable progress with her training.
Clare Knight, from Little Horton, left school at 16 to start on a Youth Training Scheme in reception work.
She trained with the Hotel Catering Training Company and Novotel in Bradford and soon achieved an NVQ Level Two.
After taking a break from formal training, during which she continued to work for the hotel, she returned to pass an NVQ Level Three in front office supervision and has now completed a Modern Apprenticeship.
Now 22, Clare is working towards an NVQ Level 4 in management and is now a team leader at the Quality Victoria Hotel in Bradford.
Her course tutor at HCTC, Diane Illingworth, said: "Clare has made remarkable progress. She has done extremely well at every stage of her career development and looks set for an exciting career in hotel management."
l Anyone aged 16-18 and living in the Bradford district who would like to take up similar training should contact Bradford TEC on (01274) 751321.
