CRIME NOVEL: A Wicked Deed
This £5.99 Warner paperback is the the fifth chronical of medieval detective Mathew Bartholomew.
Gregory, a former Yorkshire police officer turned researcher, takes us back to the 14th century in a historical tale of murder set in Suffolk.
She portrays the period well and the book is, for me, one for holiday reading. It was easy to pick up and put down and didn't tax the brain too much!
My preference is for thrillers which are so gripping I have to finish them as quickly as possible and this wasn't one of them. But I'm sure it will suit the writer's fans. Published in paperback by Warner Books at £6.99.
