Silsden's youngsters showed the club's future is in safe hands by winning the Bradford boys team championships at Keighley.

In a close finish they were three strokes clear of runners-up Shipley with Bingley St Ives a further shot away in third.

The three members of the Silsden team to count all returned sub-70 nett scores. Chris Morton led the way with a 66, Nick Tywang returned 67 and Philip Rishworth 69. Stuart McRink was the team's non-scorer on 73.

Individual honours went to Northcliffe's boys international Simon Bell who shot a two under par 68 to take the best gross prize. Best nett came from Shipley's Ben Carter with 63 off his 18 handicap.

Last week Silsden won the Bradford 8-15 League team championship and this boys team win provides further consolation for the club with the first team on the verge of relegation from the Bradford Scratch League Division One.
