A young mum was kidnapped by a bouncer who stabbed and raped her, a Court heard.

The 22-year-old Heckmondwike woman was dragged off a Gomersal street into the bouncer's car and driven to Wigan where her rape ordeal began, Leeds Crown Court was told.

Philip Robinson, of Buckfast Avenue, Haydock, St Helens, denied kidnapping, wounding with intent and rape on January 7 this year.

Prosecutor Christopher Attwooll told the court that the woman, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, had been approached by Robinson in Gomersal and refused to speak to him.

He said if she didn't get into his car she would regret it and indicated he had something under his coat, Mr Attwooll said.

Robinson also said if she didn't go with him he would take her daughter and began to unbuckle her from her buggy, it was alleged.

A relative managed to take her daughter away but 25-year-old Robinson grabbed the woman by the throat and tried to force her into the car.

The court was told how she grabbed hold of railings but he bit her to make her let go, grabbed her with both hands around the throat and forced her into the car. Robinson then reached into the door pocket and pulled out a carving knife with a 22cm blade.

The court heard that as she lay on the floor, Robinson stabbed her under the left breast, leaving a 3.3cm wound and a 7.5cm scratch on her chest which later required four stitches. She also had multiple bruises and a bite mark on her elbow.

After being driven 20 metres down the road, the woman jumped out of the car as it was moving and again Robinson bit her elbow to try to stop her. She ran off but Robinson chased her and dragged her back into the car.

He drove the woman to Hartshead Service Station where he allegedly told her he would kill her.

The woman said that while in the car, the man either received or made a phone call during which he told someone "the plan had backfired and everything had gone wrong".

They set off for Haydock, because Robinson told the woman he felt safe there, but ran out of petrol on the M62.

After walking across several fields, they reached Manchester Road in Salford where Robinson phoned someone to collect them and take them to Wigan.

At an empty house in Wigan, he allegedly bolted the door. Mr Attwooll said: "After half an hour, things became sinister. He said to her 'I'm going to rape you later.' She said 'what for?' He replied 'to show you I'm in control'."

The jury heard that 45 minutes later he raped her.

After the incident, the woman pretended she could not breathe and had chest pains. She persuaded Robinson to call for help and he was arrested at Wigan Infirmary.

The case continues.
