A mother and her daughter have appeared in court charged in connection with allegations of child prostitution.

The women, aged 47 and 23, appeared at Bradford magistrates court yesterday, charged with a number of offences said to have occurred at a house in Bradford this year.

The mother, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is charged with keeping a brothel, two allegations of allowing a girl under 16 to commit an act of gross indecency with another, causing and encouraging the prostitution of a girl under 16 and three allegations of allowing children, aged six, 12 and 14, to live in a brothel.

Her daughter, who lives at the same address in Bradford, is accused of three offences of inciting a girl under 16 to gross indecency with another.

The women were remanded in custody until August 14.

Three men also appeared in court facing related charges.

David Illingworth, 62, of Clayton House, Bradford, and Kenneth Haymans, 44, of March Cote Lane, Cottingley, both face two charges of gross indecency with a child under 14.

Kenneth Wright, 48, of Geraldton Avenue, Kings Park, Bradford, faces one charge of gross indecency with a child under 14.

All three men were granted conditional bail until September 4.

l On Page 3 of yesterday's final edition of the Telegraph & Argus we carried a photograph, said to be of the house where arrests in connection with the above court case took place. We would like to point out that the house pictured was not the house which was raided by police and social services officers. We would like to make it clear that the house which featured alongside yesterday's report has no connection with this case.
