Bradford League rivals Farsley and Baildon put on a superb piece of end-of-season entertainment at Red Lane.

The tied match left Farsley as leaders with Baildon runners-up before the semi-final play-offs at Farsley on Sunday, August 20.

Two depleted sides looked like making it a low key affair, but the match turned out to be a thriller as a scampered run off the last ball levelled the scores for Baildon.

Their second leg spinner Jamie Abbott tormented the Farsley batsmen as the home side stuttered to 92 for eight in their 14 eight ball overs.

Baildon made a great start with 35 for none off four overs, but the match swung in Farsley's favour when Steven Brown bowled Richard Robinson first ball.

Their confidence grew as more wickets began to tumble and Baildon were left with nine runs to win from the last over, and they came so close to snatching victory.

In the only other match to be played, Adel won at Meanwood by two wickets. Meanwood scored 119 for four and Adel replied with 120 for eight.

Four Bradford League clubs will contest the semi-finals at Farsley. Baildon will meet Pudsey St Lawrence at 1.30 and Farsley will play Pudsey Congs at 4.30. Each side will bat for 16 eight ball overs. The final will be held at the same ground on Sunday, September 3.
