Rawdon climbed into a share of top spot with Guiseley in Division A after a crushing win over Beckwithshaw while their rivals were only picking up five points at bottom club Silsden.

That win took Rawdon's recent record to four wins and two winning draws, and in their last three games no opponent has scored more than 87 runs against them.

Things didn't look too bright when Rawdon stood at 102 for eight but No 10 Ian Vinall hit a spirited 26 to give them 141 to defend.

Paceman Kenrick Marshall produced another fine spell of four for 38 but the honours went to leg spinner Robert Atkinson whose 13.5 overs saw him take six for 28 as Beckwithshaw were skittled out for 86.

Glen Taylor cracked 83 in Guiseley's innings of 200 but their bowlers were unable to overcome Silsden's stubborn defence and the bottom club were on 108 for seven at the close. Earlier Chris Walker (4-56) and Adrian Emmott (3-54) had kept all but Taylor on the defensive.

With Adel only managing to draw at Bilton, they are now in third - two points behind the leaders - but Steeton's challenge came unstuck as they went down by seven runs at Knaresborough.

Guy Saxton only bowled 7.4 overs for Steeton, taking six for 18, and Steeton skipper Matthew Pinniger may now be regretting not using his opener more.

Knaresborough reached a modest 125 with Martin Revill top scoring on 58 not out, and it was he who took the final Steeton wicket as they were bowled out for 118.

Neil Spragg was the pick of the batting with 45 while veteran Mal Brittain (5-47) and Richard Procter (4-47) did the damage with the ball.

Skipton eased their relegation worries with a three-wicket win over North Leeds, their first victory in the league since May 20.

But Burley look doomed to join Silsden in the drop after former team-mate Mick Taylor (5-44 and 59) steered Follifoot to victory off the last available ball.

The leading pack in Division B are making heavy weather of things but Menston remain in pole position after taking four points from a thriller at bottom club Tong Park.

David Lester (84) and Richard Burton (82no) put Menston in a strong position at 245 for five but a third-wicket stand of 126 between Andy Thin and Danny Groom put the home side back in the driving seat. Thin cracked 14 fours in his 105 scored in 123 balls, with Groom adding 61.

But, needing 17 off the last 18 balls, Tong Park fell seven short with just one wicket left.

Stuart Williss scored an unbeaten 94 as Green Lane had the better of a draw with second placed Collingham, but a seven-for-42 spell by Calverley's Danny Theron whipped out third-placed Ilkley for 111 to end a run of four consecutive victories.

A match-winning spell of six for 34 from Paul Machell moved Otley up the table and left Horsforth, who were bowled out for 79, still in the relegation zone.

Hall Park lifted themselves above the danger with a seven-wicket win over Illingworth largely thanks to 79 from John Mancrieff and a five-wicket spell from Jon Haig.

Keith Wilkinson hit an unbeaten half-century for Addingham but couldn't prevent Alwoodley cruising to an eight-wicket win.

Olicanian, who celebrated their first Division C win last week, were brought to earth with a thud as joint leaders Kirkstall Ed raced to 303 for five then skittled the Ilkley side out for 36.

Shaun Fitzsimmons hit an undefeated century for Pool Mills as they ended Bolton Villas' run of four straight wins while Thackley prevented a fourth defeat in a row by hanging on for a draw at Ben Rhydding.

Nick Sheard (67) and Michael Aldous (52) helped Ben Rhydding to 199 for four, but despite a seven-wicket haul by Tony Todd they were unable to capture Thackley's last wicket.
