Dewsbury chairman Bob McDermott has provided assurances that his club's Ram Stadium capacity can be increased to the required 10,000 for the next Super League season.

The Northern Ford Premiership champions, skippered by former Bulls utility man Nathan Graham, have yet to fulfil the minimum criteria laid down for promotion to the top flight but McDermott has pledged to have all the documentation in place by the end of the week.

The club must satisfy the League's independent franchise panel on their stadium, finance, marketing and playing strategies in time for a final decision by August 31.

"I have told (League chairman) Sir Rodney (Walker) that we'll have all the paperwork in place by Friday, when we have got to prove that we can move forward on the planning side," said McDermott.

"We have permission for either an 8,240 all-seater or a mixed capacity of seating and standing of 10,139. That's the option we are looking at.

"Our finance plan, administration and playing strength is all sorted, that won't be a problem. Then, basically, we're rolling forward."

Work on the Ram Stadium, which currently has a capacity of just 3,400, could start in six weeks.

"It's only a 20-week build so we are aiming for completion by March 31," added McDermott.

The Huddersfield-Sheffield Giants are sweating on the outcome of the franchise panel's deliberations. They are four points adrift at the bottom of Super League with six games left and firm favourites to be relegated if the Rams win their off-field promotion battle.
