WELL the winning run is still going as we beat Hull last Friday at Headingley in a really good all round performance from the lads.

Hull came into the game knowing that they needed to win to revive their top five chances so we had to maintain our concentration and commitment throughout, which we did to great success.

Our good run recently has seen our forward pack really lead from the front.

Such is the nature of Super League, that you can never afford to take a backward step and even when new players like Garreth Carvell come in, like in the past two weeks, they know the standards that are expected of them and raise their game accordingly.

I will be interested to see how Iestyn Harris and the other Rhinos lads get on in the Middlesex Sevens this Saturday at Twickenham.

Leeds are putting in a dual code team into the event and Iestyn along with Karl Pratt, Chev Walker and Mark Calderwood are representing the 13-man code.

Calderwood is someone who not many people will have heard of but he is really impressing in the Academy team this year, scoring nearly 40 tries in only 17 games, which by anyone's standards is good going.

On Monday myself and the majority of first team players were lucky enough to be able to take part in a trip to Blackpool with the Junior Rhinos.

The Junior Rhinos are the children or grandchildren of Rhinos 2000 members and they all looked really pleased with their day out.

We did some rugby skills on the beach before heading to the Pleasure Beach to go on the rides.

It was a fantastic day and for the players it is nice to get the opportunity to spend time with supporters away from the pressures of rugby.

This week we face a trip to McAlpine Stadium to play Huddersfield-Sheffield Giants for the third time this season at the third different venue.

We beat them at Headingley and at the start of July at Bramall Lane however they have changed management since that game so could prove a harder nut to crack.

There are a big seven days ahead at Headingley this week with the Day/Night Cricket between Yorkshire and Lancashire followed by the Test Match next week.

Test match weeks are always special at Headingley as the

place is really buzzing and you get the sense of the history that is at the ground.

However, from a player's point of view it gets a bit frustrating as it throws your whole routine out when the ground is off limits, it should be an interesting match with the series still drawn so Headingley could again be a lucky venue for England.

l Harris is one of four Super League Rhinos named in the 10-man squad, the first time a union-league side has featured in the famous 16-team sevens event, to be televised by the BBC this Saturday.

Harris, the current captain of Wales and vice-captain of Great Britain rugby league, will still play for the Rhinos in their Tetley's Bitter Super League game at Huddersfield-Sheffield Giants 24 hours later.

His union debut comes only months after Wales Rugby Union made an unsuccessful £1m-plus bid to lure him to the 15-a-side code, Harris opting to secure his future with the Rhinos until the end of 2003.

The Leeds Rugby side meets high flying Zurich premiership side Saracens in the opening match of the tournament, kicking off at 11.20am.
