Bradford City have been handed a tough draw at Premiership rivals Newcastle in the third round of the Worthington Cup.

The match at St James' Park is likely to be played on Wednesday, November 1.

Newcastle have been revived under the management of Bobby Robson.

City boss Chris Hutchings said: "Obv-iously we would have liked a home draw but there will be 50,000 people at the match who will create a great atmosphere.

"There are some big games involving Premiership clubs and a Sheffield derby. The competition has come alive.

"It is going to be difficult for us but there are always a few surprises. The most important thing is to try to get through.

"Bobby Robson has done a great job at Newcastle and they have got some top class players like Alan Shearer and Gary Speed."

Leeds United face a tricky trip to Prenton Park to face last season's beaten finalists Tranmere.
