Drama, suspense, dance and classical music is on offer during public performances in Skipton this autumn.

Skipton Music Society presents the Russian Chamber Orchestra of London in a concert at the Town Hall on October 10.

Get Moving is a day of dance including salsa, reggae, rock, comic character and mime, for ages 11 to adult, at Skipton Girls High School on November 4. Phone 0113 267 4863.

Skipton Music Society presents trumpet player Mark Law and Phil Moore performing music by Enesco, Schubert and Rachmaninov, at the Town Hall on November 7.

Also from the Music Society comes a November 28 concert by pianists Nettle and Markham, including pieces by Beethoven, Schubert, Debussy and Bernstein.

November 25 sees a concert by Settle Orchestral Society at Christ Church, Skipton, with Dvorak's Symphony No 9 and music by Sullivan and Kurtwell.

Skipton Players perform Sheridan's historic comedy The Rivals at the Little Theatre on December 5-9.

The Auction Mart is the venue for a December 12 family production of Conan Doyle's dinosaur adventure The Lost World.

The show, packed with zany zoologists, apemen and a pterodactyl comes from North Country Theatre, who recently presented Cartimandua.
