There were goals galore in the Alliance league with 47 scored in just six matches.

Skipton led the way with a 12-1 win over newcomers Royal Oak. Ian Barnard scored four a John Allen followed up with a hat-trick. There was a brace for Ian Tyrer and solo efforts for Michael Oseadyenko, Martin Osadzenko and an own goal.

Eight goals were shared in a thrilling encounter between Brown Cow Bingley and Bocking. The Bingley side had the better of the first half, going in two up at the break. The Bocking manager's half time team talk had the desired result and they drew level with two quick goals.

The scoring continued to see-saw between the teams and they shared the points. Brown cow scorers were Rob Roberts (2), Richard O'Reilley with Chris Cussons (2) backed up by strikes from Chris Stephens and Ian Smith for Bocking.

Shoulder and St Annes Celtic also finished all square with all four goals coming in the first half. Gary Whitaker scored both Shoulder's goals and for St Annes Paul Linyard - who usually plays in goal - scored the opener with Martin Knowles adding the second.

Cottingley maintained their unbeaten record with a 6-2 victory over last season's Jeff Hall Trophy winners Craven Athletic. The home team dictated play in the first half and were rewarded with four goals. The visitors stepped up a gear on the re-start and found the net twice. Cottingley refused to let the improvement get out of hand and made certain with two of their own. Cottingley scorers were Mark McLafferty (4), Craig Walsh and Lee Watson.

Keighley Victoria gained their first win of the season with a 6-1 defeat of Stockbridge. There was little indication of what was to come in the first half with a 1-1 scoreline at the break. The flood gates opened in the second half with Vics scoring five goals without reply. Ben Hepworth was the only scorer for Stockbridge.

The youthful Keighley United team provided the shock of the day with a 5-2 victory over Silsden. In the first 45 minutes the ball hit the back of the net six times and it could have been more as Silsden missed three great chances. Only one goal was scored in the second half as United made certain of the points. Keighley scorers were A Bennett (2), J Drake, P Devlin and S Lockley.
