In 1858, 17 people, including five children, died from eating arsenic contaminated sweets in Bradford.
In 1863, the Holy Trinity Church, Leeds Road, Bradford, was consecrated.
From the Telegraph & Argus of November 1st, 1975... Electric pumps have been banished from two Bradford public houses as customers have backed the growing national taste for 'real ale'. The old handpumps at the Victoria Hotel, Livingstone Road, Bolton Woods, were taken out a few weeks before the present landlord, Mr Frank Connell, moved in last March. "Trade went down", said Mr Connell's wife, Ann. Electric pumps didn't last much longer at the New Inn, Victoria Road, Eccleshill, where they were fitted a year ago.
From the Telegraph & Argus of November 1st, 1950... Four men who parked their cars in Aldermanbury, Bradford, on October 5, and who were charged at Bradford today with causing an unnecessary obstruction in that street, all stressed the need of more parking facilities in the city. One man who pleaded 'not guilty' told the magistrates he had looked at seven parking places in the city centre but could find no room in any. Fines of 15s. were made in three cases. In the other instance, with two similar offences, a fine of 25s. was ordered.
