Oldfield gala committee has presented £1,500 to local good causes. The Grouse Inn's Mark Narey gave £500 to each of this year's beneficiaries - Oldfield School, Keighley's Talking Newspaper and the Airedale Hospital children's ward - at its AGM on Monday. Gala chairman Kris Hopkins said: "A total of £1,500 is an amazing figure for a little village like Oldfield and a credit to the community spirit," he said. Next year's gala is on July 22. The new committee have two events coming up - a quiz night on November 27 and a carol night on December 18, both at the Grouse Inn.
