Security staff at Keighley's Airedale shopping centre may spend most of the day on their feet, but that didn't stop three of them stepping out on a 24-mile sponsored walk which raised over £1,000 for charity.

David Parker, Ian Barker and Alan Clough set out from the Airedale centre and walked to Riddlesden, where they joined the canal towpath for a walk to Skipton and back. Their trek raised £1,040 for the Bradford Cancer Support Centre.

David says: "We would like to thank all the shops in the Airedale centre and around town, as well as the members of the public who supported us and helped us raise the cash."

Cancer Support Centre fund raising and events co-ordinator Linda Enderby, who collected a cheque from the trio, says: "The money will help us develop services and cover the day to day running costs of the centre, which offers practical, psychological and social support for patients, carers and the bereaved. Our services are district-wide, and include the Keighley area and Airedale hospital."
