Bradford City are tackling the stumbling blocks that will crop up from sharing a home with their rugby league neighbours.

Bantams managing director Shaun Harvey revealed that plans were already being drawn up to make the move as smooth as possible.

Several areas have to be discussed both on and off the field and full details are likely to be finalised within the next month.

The Bradford Bulls offices will be staying at Odsal, although ticket-selling arrangements are still to be rubber-stamped.

City are waiting for Bulls to confirm a ticket policy. With Valley Parade being an all-seater stadium, Bulls may decide to sell unreserved seats so that fans can still sit together.

Provisional Super League fixtures for next season have already been sent to both clubs to avoid any potential clashes of matches.

Harvey said: "It may be unavoidable on occasions but we want to ensure it is the exception rather than the norm."

The opening date of the next football season is still to be confirmed, although it is expected to kick off on August 4.

City plan to forward the Bulls fixtures to the football authorities to ensure when the new list is drawn up there are no doubles in that three-month crossover.

Huddersfield have successfully avoided any problems while hosting both football and rugby at the McAlpine Stadium. But there is the potential added hurdle for City of avoiding clashing with Leeds United.

City, as landlords, will do all the pitch maintenance work. Bulls will not be allowed to paint their logo on the playing surface and the extravagant pre-match entertainment may have to be scaled down.

Harvey said: "Things have to be sorted but there will not be a problem.

"In a few weeks' time we will be in a position to go through all the details and answer any questions."
