Industry employers could be missing out on valuable IT-trained recruits by ignoring the over-50 workforce.
The Yorkshire branch of the Engineering Employers' Federation, said the so-called "silver surfers" were increasing their use of technology faster than any other age group.
EEF director Ian Hughes said: "Older people are signing on to the Internet at double the rate of the under 30s."
