AN Ilkley councillor wants to see charges
abolished on the car park on Railway
Road, Ilkley, to help solve the town's traffic problems.
Councillor Anne Hawkesworth, who is City Hall's environment chief, said that the car park had been hardly used since the charges were imposed around two years ago.
Coun Hawkesworth said that if the car park was used regularly by railway commuters without charges there would be less pressure on surrounding streets.
The removal of charges on the car park is just one of the improvements Coun Hawkesworth wants to see to solve traffic
congestion in the town.
