Back-rower Hudson Smith has followed fellow Aussie Justin Brooker out of Odsal.

Smith, 27, had two years to run on his Bulls contract but the parties have agreed a settlement and he is expected to return Down Under soon.

The former Balmain and Salford forward's future has been in doubt since the appointment of new coach Brian Noble who is clearly keen to stamp his own mark on the Challenge Cup holders.

Former coach Matthew Elliott caused something of a surprise when he moved for Smith a year ago after a quiet first season at Salford.

In all Smith started 11 games but was on the bench a further 22 times. He missed just three matches all season, including the cup final at Murrayfield which Wakefield Trinity-bound Brooker also sat out.

The move, which follows talks between chief executive Abi Ekoku and Smith yesterday, leaves the way clear for a double overseas swoop by Noble with New Zealand Test prop Joe Vagana his top target, although he faces stiff competition.

Twenty-year-old Bulls prop Gareth Handford is joining his hometown club Castleford on a six months loan starting on January 1. Handford was named in the Bulls senior squad for the first time last season and made his full debut at Hull in September.

Meanwhile, the Bulls tomorrow unveil their match-day and season ticket pricing structure for their move to Valley Parade. Details will be in the Telegraph & Argus.
