A Cross Hills residential home is sheltering Selby flood victims. A mixed band of nine pensioners, aged 80 plus, was shipped to the Town End Close old people's home on Wednesday.
An Anchor Homes spokesman says: "They are from a home in Selby called Firth House.
"They were evacuated from there on Sunday into a day care centre in Selby then we were told it looked likely most of Selby would be evacuated. So we arranged for them to go into Anchor homes throughout Yorkshire."
The group will remain in Cross Hills for at least a week until Selby is deemed safe. The spokesman believes the pensioners are still adjusting to their new surroundings.
She says: "They have been uprooted and are a bit dishevelled, stressed and upset."
