The omens looked good for Terriers 'B' following Paul Lister's 20-22, 21-11, 21-12 win in the first game against Steve Fuller as they took on their 'C' team in Division Two.

However, the gods were not on their side as their only other point came from Steve Wands who got the better of Stuart Myers 21-11, 21-17. Main architect of the 'C' team victory was the vastly experienced veteran Tom Lacey who set his stall out with a never-say-die victory over Steve Wands 18-21, 21-13, 22-20 before beating both Lister and Ronnie Farrar in convincing fashion. Myers and Fuller completed the demolition with a couple each that saw Myers beat Lister 21-16, 14-21, 21-14 and Fuller beat Wands 21-19, 21-19.

In Division Three, Wilsden confirmed their position at the top with a convincing 8-2 victory at fellow promotion hopefuls Ilkley Road 'B'. Steve Brigg did his best for the home team with wins against both Luke and Dave Broadbent but couldn't quite manage to get the better of Adam Broadbent, going down 21-17, 14-21, 21-10.

The former Oakbank player completed a full house with defeats of both Chris Dunn and Rob McLean whilst brother Luke also repeated the trick against the Riddlesden duo. Dave Broadbent did similarly, although he was pushed hard by Dunn before ending victorious 21-13, 13-21, 21-16.

Old Skiptonians welcomed back an on song Richard Crookes who registered a faultless performance against Oakbank 'B'. Unfortunately for the home team, only a doubles win added to Crookes' tally as Alec Pue, Ross and Rorie Roberts enjoyed a productive match against John Romano and Maria Simpson with only Ross Robert's 21-17, 16-21, 21-16 win against Romano requiring a decider in the visitor's 6-4 victory.

Sympathy must be felt for Paul Waddington who failed to register a single team point despite taking all three St Peter's players to three in Terrier's 'D's visit to the Addingham team.

Desperately unlucky to lose 21-18, 19-21, 23-21 to Sam Atkinson, he suffered the same fate against both Richard Foster and David Tomlinson. The main inspiration for St Peter's 7-3 success was undoubtedly Atkinson who earned his first maximum of the season with further wins against Steve Ives (21-19, 21-17) and Ken Feather (22-20, 21-14).

Mark Waterhouse set the standard with a treble for Ilkley Road 'C' away to South Craven. Following his example, Phil Singleton also enjoyed a faultless evening in the Riddlesden team's 9-1 victory with South Craven's sole point coming from Jordan Ross who beat Chris Gill 21-18, 21-13.

In the first week of the Craven Division's season, both Giggleswick teams enjoyed good performances. The 'A' team took on Top Scorers and ran out 7-3 winners with a maximum from David Hassell that included a 21-18, 17-21, 21-16 victory against Alex MacPherson. Andy Hassell also did well for Giggleswick with a couple but was not quite a match enough for MacPherson who got the better of him 21-19, 16-21, 24-22.

The 'B' team also had a top notch victory away at The Mitchis who had no answer to the powerful performances delivered by the visitor's Jonny and Raymond Bryson and M. Hamer as they staggered to a 10-0 defeat.
