Bradford Bulls fans have given a mixed response to the new price structure which will come into operation in Super League VI following the club's switch to Valley Parade.

The majority of fans will face increases, but while some are angered by the price hike others say it will be worth it to stay dry and enjoy greater spectator comforts than they have had at Odsal.

Long time fan Gordon Boyes, of Eccleshill, said: "It's a bit steep.

"I paid £13.50 to sit in the centre of the main stand at Odsal last season and a similar seat at Valley Parade will be £16.

"It does make you wonder whether the extra £2.50 is going straight into Bradford City's coffers.

"It's quite a rise in one go, especially for people who had a roof over their head last season anyway.

"For fans who stood on the open terraces last season it's probably worth the additional cost to have a covered seat.

"Overall I think the prices have gone up a bit too much but it won't put me off going."

Season ticket holder David Rathmell, of Horton Bank Top, said: "The increase does seem a bit much.

"I stood on the terrace at Odsal - close to the halfway line - but to view the game from a similar position at Valley Parade would be much more expensive.

"It will be nice to sit in comfort out of the rain because despite being a summer game we were still stood under umbrellas quite a lot last season.

"The facilities at Odsal generally are pretty appalling, especially the toilets.

"We will be supporting the team as ever but we may have to look at sitting in cheaper seats in the wing stand or in the north-west corner."

Trevor Davies, of Shipley, said: "I am looking forward to the move. I don't think we can expect to pay the same as we did at Odsal.

"It's obvious Bradford City are looking for their slice of the cake, but when you compare them with Premiership soccer prices they are still excellent value.

"I still think the Bulls fans will turn up in numbers.

"If all the signings come off in the next few weeks I am sure we will be very competitive again.

"It will be interesting see whether Bulls or City come closest to filling the ground when the capacity reaches 25,000. I fancy our chances - particularly if we draw Leeds in the Challenge Cup."
