By day Jaine Ellison is a hardworking, high flying legal executive who flexes her brain in complex legal matters.

But by night she is a bodybuilding superstar who has just won the title of Miss Great Britain.

The 32-year-old, from Norwood Terrace, Shipley, beat off hundreds of other entrants to scoop the national title in Cambridge and a huge trophy.

Now Jaine, pictured, is preparing to travel to Amsterdam next week to compete for the European crown.

She said: "Miss Great Britain was my first competition and I'm absolutely flabbergasted to win. It's unbelievable."

The contest was run by the Association of Natural Bodybuilders, with entrants having to impress judges in three separate rounds.

Jaine said: "It isn't like a bodybuilding contest you see on television where the women have huge, unnatural bodies. We are drug-tested and our bodies tend to be more feminine."

Competitors were judged on their posture, body symmetry, and performed a short routine flexing their muscles.

Jaine, who is 5ft 3ins, was persuaded to get involved in the sport by her boyfriend, Steve Clayton.

"He is keep fit mad and encouraged me to take an interest too," she said. "But I never thought I would get this far.

"People kept telling me I should have a go. I am a bit keep-fit mad and do a couple of hours before I start work in Leeds. I belong to quite a few gyms and the reaction from people has always been 'go for it'. And I did."

Jaine, who sticks to a high protein diet at all times, admitted she had raised a few eyebrows at work.

"You can't see the muscles under the power suit but people who know about my hobby think I am insane.

"I don't know how far I'm going to go but I would love to win in Europe and represent Great Britain in the World Championships."
