A scheme which guides disadvantaged people into the workplace has helped a teenager land a job at a Bradford car dealership.
The Work-Able programme provided Imran Zamir Khan, 19, with help in literacy and numeracy, as well as developing his social skills for the world of work.
It secured Zamir a work placement at the Dixon (Citroen) dealership in Kings Road, which later became a permanent post after he passed his driving test.
Since then, Imran had been promoted to pitch co-ordinator with the responsibility for ensuring cars are displayed and moved as required.
Giles Castleton, manager of the Dixon site, said: "We are all delighted that Imran has secured a full time position with us.
"Although things haven't always been easy for Imran, he has proved that, with extra help and encouragement from both Work-Able and ourselves, he can achieve the targets set."
