RESIDENTS and MP Harold Best have been invited to a meeting to discuss plans for a major office complex on the border of Yeadon and Horsforth.
The future of the derelict former Springfield School site off Whitehouse Lane and Scotland Lane will be discussed at the meeting on Monday afternoon.
Leeds Bradford Airport and developers Rushbond are looking to redevelop the site into offices.
Councillor Graham Kirkland (Lib Dem), whose Otley & Wharfedale ward covers the area in question, said he had not been invited to the meeting, but doubted the proposals would have much of an impact in the area.
"I have written to the airport director informing him that the site is at least half a mile inside the boundary of my ward and that I expect an invite. It seems somebody is
deliberately keeping me from attending this meeting."
Deputy chairman at Leeds Bradford Airport, Coun Denise Atkinson (Lab, Bramley) said: "We have been working on proposals for the former Springfield school site, which is now derelict, with developers Rushbond for some time, and we are looking for feedback from the community."
In a letter distributed to Horsforth Town Council, Coun Atkinson said MP Harold Best, local city councillors and some residents have all been invited to Monday afternoon's
meeting.
