From the Telegraph & Argus of December 15, 1975...Bradford odd-job man Donald Neilson was charged today with the kidnapping and murder of 17-year-old heiress Lesley Whittle. Neilson has lived at Grangefield Avenue, Thornbury, for about 15 years. Throughout the weekend, detectives have been making a painstaking, inch-by-inch search of the terrace house which has recently gone up for sale. Scotland Yard Commander John Morrison is leading the hunt for Lesley's killer, dubbed the Black Panther.

thousand Bradford children are each to be given a half-pound pack of boiled sweets as treats this Christmas. This gift, from the people of Tanganyika, East Africa, is being sent from the Commonwealth Gift Centre in London to the Lord Mayor of Bradford. Children all over the country will be receiving sweets left from the Tanganyika Food for Britain fund, which is being closed down.
