Irish eyes will be smiling for Keighley girl Bridget Madden as she travels to the Emerald Island for a top dance contest.
The 12-year-old has won a place in the World Championships of Irish Dance next April in Limerick.
She will compete against up to 200 dancers from all over the world following her success in the recent North-West qualifying heats.
Bridget has been taking Irish dance lessons for four years and has already won 195 medals and 53 trophies.
Her mother, also named Bridget, says: "She did ballet and tap from being two years old. I used to do Irish dancing and she wanted to start. She got a buzz from it."
Young Bridget, whose parents run Sun Street Stores in Haworth, takes regular lessons at the Tracy Scanlon School of Irish Dancing in Leeds.
She will also travel across the Irish Sea early next year to compete in the All-Ireland Championships, which are open to all comers.
When they return for the World Championships, Bridget's family will spend a week in Ireland on holiday.
