THE DEWSBURY game was the culmination of a great week for the club. It began with the victory at Hunslet and continued with an outstanding Alliance victory against a strong Oldham outfit in midweek.

To top it off with a superb win over the Rams was just superb -- and the style of that victory was the icing on the cake.

PREPARATION before the match has been spot on and the result was there for all to see with some tremendous execution, and I have to stress that it was an outstanding team performance.

However, it would be wrong to get carried away with the victory and become distracted from our ultimate goal. We beat Dewsbury at home last season but achieved nothing in terms of silverware, so it is important that we now put the game behind us and prepare with exactly the same intensity for the match against York this weekend.

THE CROWD figure was encouraging and hopefully it was increase as the season progresses. The players and I will be doing our utmost to back the club and we would like the people of the area to get down and support us.

THIS WEEK could see the return of Alan Boothroyd and Steve Pickles to the club. They have both been absent due to work commitments. Their presence would increase competition for places and have the desired effect of keeping players' minds focused on retaining their places.

THE VISIT to York on Sunday will not be easy. Despite losing to Hull KR they must have shown great defensive qualities by holding them to a 2-0 scoreline.

WOODY and I spent an enjoyable morning at the Cougar shop last Saturday meeting fans and signing replica shirts. I had such a great time that I'll be back again tomorrow at 11am for another session.

The club has produced a video '1000 Points' which shows 2 hours of Cougar action from our record-breaking 1999-2000 season and I will be signing copies on request. Those of you who are struggling to find a stocking filler with Christmas fast approaching - this could be just the thing!

Finally, I was deeply involved in video analysis the other day when I was disturbed by a young lad. When he heard the name Paul Harrison mentioned he asked me: "Is that Karl's son?" Wait till I see Rhino!
