Kirkby Lonsdale.....10

Ilkley U-10s........... 45

ILKLEY overcame a strong and enthusiastic Kirkby Lonsdale team in an excellent display of rugby.

Ilkley struggles in the set scrums against a more powerful front row but dominated the open play and generally tackled well.

Hat-tricks for each of Ryan Cooper and Carl Houchen, and tries by Harry Kirwan, Richard Rhodes and Jack Arundell gave Ilkley an unassailable led.

Two missed tackles by the Ilkley centres gave Kirkby Lonsdale two tries, errors which Ilkley will have to eliminate against stronger sides.

UNDER-8'S

ON a beautiful autumn morning Ilkley Under-8's visited Kirby Lonsdale.

Playing ten minutes each way Ilkley were the first to open the score with a forceful run from Liam Dobson who, at the last moment, gave a perfectly timed pass to Manny Cammarata, who scored in the corner.

A robust and speedy Kirby Lonsdale scored almost immediately from the re-start, but with some excellent tackling from Rory Bryett, Liam Dobson and Mathew McGuire they forced Kirby Lonsdale into a number of handling errors.

This curtailed their enthusiasm and halted their attacking play.

An entertaining run from Tom Pugh had Kirby Lonsdale running from side to side before he capped his run with a superb try at the corner.

Chris Bromley, Alex Winton, Edward Murgatroyd and the ever-present Marcus Bennett scored Ilkley's other tries.

Although conceding four tries, Ilkley continue to improve.

With the side becoming more and more together as a team, and showing excellent team spirit with a will to compete with every game, ran out worthy winners six tries to four tries.
