In 1926, the first Bradford Telegraph & Argus was printed after the merging of the Bradford Daily Telegraph and the Yorkshire Evening Argus.
In 1971, East Pakistan gained Independence from West Pakistan, creating Bangladesh and Pakistan.

Businessman Paul Griffiths will open his new nightclub in Bradford tomorrow - in spite of a ban on alcohol. He plans to sell drinks from the prohibition era at his 1920's style Gatsby Night Club in Fountain Street. And Mr Griffiths is inviting his customers to bring a bottle with them, to help beat the ban.

Last year the Bradford Local Taxation Office renewed, between mid-January and mid-December, almost 18,000 vehicle licences, many of them in the rush period in the first few days of the New Year.
