Bradford City have given a trial to Danish international right back Soren Colding, but they are unlikely to pursue their interest.

The 27-year-old Bronby player, who has gained 24 international caps for Denmark, played for City in a private practice match against Huddersfield Town at the McAlpine Stadium yesterday.

Manager Jim Jefferies said: "He has a good pedigree and great experience in the Champions League with Bronby and we decided to have a look at him while his season is closed down for three weeks.

"He did OK, but it is unlikely we will make him a target. Although he is a very good player and he is very good on the ball he is not what we are looking for.

"I am looking for someone who can come in and improve things right away, but he is not much better than the players we have already got at the club."

Jefferies hoped to have a second trialist to look at but he couldn't play.

City have no reserve match for a month so Jefferies also arranged the game with Town to give match practice to Wayne Jacobs who has recently recovered from a double hernia operation and Lee Sharpe who is recovering from a virus.

Three of the substitutes in the Newcastle match, Andy Myers, Jamie Lawrence and Dean Saunders ,also played.

City won 4-0 with Saunders scoring twice. Other scorers were Lee Sharpe and Gareth Grant.
