A PUBLIC meeting will be held to discuss road safety around a new housing estate in Yeadon, which was granted planning permission this week.
Plans for 40 houses and a block of 24 flats off Gill Lane were approved by city
councillors, despite opposition from some
residents.
But councillors said they were concerned about access and highways problems and said that they would have to be sorted out before work could begin. Committee chairman, Councillor Malcolm Bedford (Lab, Wortley) said: "There are a number of concerns and people need to sit down with all parties and sort out the problems residents have raised. There isn't a problem with the development as a whole, just the traffic."
It is currently proposed to introduce a traffic light at the Gill Lane/New Road (A65)
junction and road widening on part of Gill Lane.
