BARRY Morgan always wanted to do something different to celebrate his 21st birthday - and jumping out of an aeroplane at 12,000 feet certainly fits into that category.
The 20-year-old is not just doing this for himself - he is hoping to raise lots of money for old people's home Tealbeck House in Otley when he does a tandem jump, paid for by his parents on March 3.
Brave Barry said: "When I celebrated my 18th I didn't do anything special and I has always wanted to do something special and memorable for my 21st. I originally had the idea of a bungee jump, but finally decided on this.
"I'm not nervous about it just yet. To be honest I haven't really given it a great deal of thought, so I'm sure I'll be nervous on the actual day."
Barry, of Cambridge Way, Otley, said his mother, Jan, works at Tealbeck House, off Wellcroft. He added that all money raised would go towards to residents' fund at the home and that three doctor's surgeries in the town had already agreed to have sponsor forms in so people could support him.
Anyone who wished to donate to Barry's charity fundraising efforts can contact Tealbeck House, Tealbeck Approach, off Wellcroft, Otley, telephone (01943) 463003.
