AN Ilkley woman has proved she is a veritable pantomime dame after taking part in her fourteenth show with the same company.
The curtain is set to rise on Shirley Britton, of Ben Rhydding, in her latest starring role in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
It is the pantomime veteran's fourteenth show with drama group Upstagers.
Mrs Britton, who is to appear as a housekeeper in the family favourite, starred in their first production, Cinderella.
She said: "I was a founder member. From then on I have played a different role every year - everything from the Queen Mother to a fairy."
"I absolutely love it. It is a great thrill to be working with all the children and the Upstagers."
Mrs Britton, who has been involved in entertainment for 30 years, said she has no intentions of putting the pantomimes behind her.
She said: "I thoroughly enjoy it. It is such a super company and I am proud to be a part of it."
Gill Jackson, producer of the show, said: "She is an absolute stalwart. She is professional and likes things to be perfect. She is also full of support for all the young people. She has been with us since the beginning. I like to put her in as a guest artist as a feature as she has quite a following, who have supported her over the years."
The pantomime will run from January 26 to February 3 at Ilkley Kings Hall. Tickets are available on (01943) 607944.
