A full review of refreshments and hospitality provided by Kirklees Council is to be carried out following a decision at the full council meeting.
At the moment all tea and coffee served at Cleckheaton Town Hall is paid for by the council, but this could change after a three-month trial at Huddersfield Town Hall.
The council confirmed a decision by the Administration and Business Management Board to have a three month trial of introducing a vending machine system. This would be used for meetings involving councillors and officers.
Council Leader Councillor Kath Pinnock said: "We are making a start by withdrawing the free facility for meetings involving councillors and officers at Huddersfield Town Hall, and will review the merits of the vending machine alternative after the three-month trial."
