Health research charity WellBeing was presented with a cheque for £1,850 by Telegraph & Argus editor Perry Austin-Clarke.
The cash was raised from the newspaper's Happy Tots campaign, when readers entered their bonny babies and made a donation to the charity.
It will be used for North Yorkshire WellBeing branch's research into obstetric and gynaecological health issues for women and children.
In the past eight years the branch has raised £45,000 and has been awarded a bronze certificate by the national charity for its excellent fundraising efforts.
Mr Austin-Clarke, left, with Hilary Pring, Angela Bush and David Pring of the WellBeing charity, said: "Happy Tots is extremely popular with our readers and the number of entries this year was astonishingly high, breaking all previous records.''
