SERVICE got back to normal in the Keighley Alliance League with five games being played and a total of 33 goals scored.

Skipton began where they left off handing out a shock defeat to previously unbeaten Midland. The final scoreline was not even close with Midland crashing to a 7-2 defeat. In the first 45 minutes Skipton found the net four times without replay and in the Second half Midland managed to score twice but Skipton added another three. There were hat-tricks from Skipton's Ian Baranard and Jimmy McConville with the other goal scored by Steve Hare.

Bocking also piled in the goals against Royal Oak, running away with a 7-0 victory. Oaks played their part in a game which was entertaining despite the one-sided scoreline.

Bocking scored four in the first period and three in the second half with man of the match Craig Stevens scoring four. Other scorers were D Nelson, D Midgley and S Hare.

Shoulder of Mutton had a much tougher game with a single goal separating them from Stockbridge who led by the only goal at the break. After the re-start goals began raining in with Shoulder finding the net four times while Bridge added two more. Scorers for Shoulder were W Carty, Adam Ackroyd, T Spence and M Conroy.

Silsden Athletic and Cottingley struggled to play good football on a pitch which was in a poor condition. Silsden started well, taking the lead with some slick moves but Cottingley bounced back to go in level 2-2 at the break. Gradually the visitors took control with three more goals while Silsden could only score one. Cottingley scorers were P Stevens, M Clapperty with two each. Silsden marksmen were R Wilson (2) and Gary Lund.

Goals from J Hudson and Mark Westfall gave Keighley Victoria a comfortable 2-0 victory over St Anne's Celtic. The break seemed to have done Victoria good as they played their best football so far this season.

The match between Keighley United and Brown Cow was postponed because the Oakbank pitch was unfit.
